H4 Efficient Home Prototype by BRIO54

The H4 Efficient Home Prototype is a 2,171 sq ft,  3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath model that has been specifically designed for very small, narrow and low sloping building lots commonly found in higher density neighborhoods along the shoreline. Designed by young design/build firm BRIO54, the H4 Efficient Home Prototype product line prototype is now completed and can be visited in Milford, Connecticut.

H4 Efficient Home Prototype by BRIO54:
“In order to offer an overall energy performance rating system that is simple and easy to understand, we decided to use the DOE Energy Smart Home Scale, short E-scale. The H4 prototype has received a score of 49, which means that it is 51% more energy efficient than the average new home currently built in the United States.
This score is due to a very tight & highly insulated building envelope, a high efficiency heating, cooling & ventilation system, a high efficiency instant water heater, energy star rated appliances, water sense rated fixtures, as well as dimmer switches & occupancy sensors.
In addition, each room offers natural cross ventilation in order to utilize the prevalent shoreline breeze to further reduce utility costs during the interim seasons.
With the H4 we do not just deliver a home, but a comprehensive lifestyle brand down to the smallest detail. We carefully craft each component in order to reinforce the overall design intent.
All the built-in cabinetry is custom designed & fabricated. It is an architectural element rather than just furnishing in an oftentimes unrelated space.
Brio54 delivers a comprehensive lifestyle brand down to the smallest detail. We carefully craft each component in order to reinforce the overall design intent. All the built-in cabinetry is custom designed and fabricated specifically for the H4 product line. Baseboards & casings are flush, wall plates for switches and outlets are snap-on and screwless.
The hardwood floor & cabinetry finishes with a sheen value as low as unfinished wood further reinforce the unique, natural, warm, yet modern character of the design.”
